Orthopaedic Equine Vet Vacancy
Exciting Orthopaedic Opportunity for an Equine Vet at Agnew Equine!
We are a 7-vet, independent, 100% ambulatory practice based in Biddulph Moor covering much of Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire, and are looking for a colleague with an interest in lameness to continue the expansion and development of the orthopaedic side of the practice. You will be given clinical freedom but will work closely with Stuart Pearson - a certificate holder in orthopaedics and an experienced and respected lameness vet. Our clients encourage (and expect) cases to be worked up properly creating an invigorating clinical environment to work in. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to continue their clinical development with a predominantly orthopaedic caseload. Here is a brief day-in-the-life video of Stuart Pearson on the job: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUZameSS6_A
We provide out-of-hours services (emergency only) to our clients, but we also prioritise a healthy work/life balance for our team (who love long weekends!) so our on-call duties are generously compensated for.
Vet Position Details:
- Experienced vets or more recent grads welcome to apply and position will be structured accordingly
- Salary competitive and based on experience of the candidate
- Working hours: Flexible working patterns considered
- 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays + birthday off (bank holidays shared on rota, Christmas rota discussed and shared fairly!)
- 1 weeknight on call per week, 1 in 5 weekends on call - with 2 days off in lieu and no weekday on call the following week (4 day weekend!)
- CPD allowance and enthusiastic about further support towards additional qualifications
- Cloud-based diary & management system which minimises admin time
- Practice vehicle, Private healthcare, Pension scheme + Employee benefits package

If you have a positive and confident outlook and would like to be out on the road working for a practice that will broaden your orthopaedic and overall experience and empower you to see cases through - then this role could be for you! If you have any questions call Stuart Pearson on 07747 764032 and if you would like to join our friendly and supportive team, please apply by sending an email/your CV to jenny.pearson@horsevets.co.uk.
